Description: Interested in how people of the Victorian Era viewed the Halloween season? Or perhaps you would care to espy the traditions surrounding funerals and mourning back around the turn of the century? Or do you have an interest in the Spiritualism movement of the time? If any of these appeal to you, then check out this annual event, which is set in authentic Victorian Era buildings, preserved in the Heritage Square Museum.
The Annual Halloween & Mourning Tours usually includes a funeral procession and some kind of dramatic presentation (e.g., spirit photography or a seance). Guides in period costume will be on hand to explain the customs on view.
Hours are noon to 4pm both Saturday and Sunday, October 26 & 27. Sunday will be more family-friendly, with period games for children, harvest crafts, and spooky stories.
Tickets are $20 for Adults, $10 for Seniors over 65, $7 for Children 6 to 12 years. Children under 6 get in free.
