A Christmas Carol coming to Noise Within

Christmas is just around the corner, which means more than one version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol coming to stages in Los Angeles. Besides the upcoming production at the Ahmanson starring Bradly Whitford, Pasadena’s A Noise Within will stage their their “delightfully festive, musically merry” version this December. The Los Angeles Times proclaimed that A Noise Within’s 2017 mounting of this adaptation was “a yuletide treat” that only “a die-hard humbug could remain unmoved by.”

The ninety-minute adaptation by Geoff Elliott, who co-directs with Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and also stars as Scrooge, is recommended for ages 5 and up, so don’t expect the Ghost of Christmas Future to be too scary, even though the production is enhanced with fog, e-cigarettes, and a water-based hazer.

A Christmas Carol will run at A Noise Within from December 2 through 23. There will also be a special “sensory-friendly” Relaxed Performance for neurodivergent individuals and families at 10am on December 11. Tickets start at $25. Proof of vaccination and masks are required; children under 12 will be permitted with a negative Covid test result. The address is 3352 E. Foothill Boulevard in Pasadena, 91107.
