A Week with Josh Olson

The Horror Drunx presents “A Week with Screenwriter-Director Josh Olson” at the New Beverly Cinema. Olson, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, has selected a week’s worth of his favorite films. Though not an entirely genre-specific event, most of the titles are fantasy films, mystery-horror-thrillers, and sci-fi cinema. Olson will be in person for all of the double bills; in many cases he will be joined by guests from the films. The even runs from Sunday, March 8 to Saturday, March 14.

The complete schedule is below:

  • A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE and STRAW DOGS. Olson will be on hand both nights for a Q&A with the audience. March 8-9 (Sunday-Monday).
  • ED WOOD and PROBLEM CHILD. Olson will conduct a Q&A session with screenwriters Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander. March 11 (Wednesday).
  • A BOY AND HIS DOG and THE DAY THE EARTH CAUGHT FIRE. Olson will conduct a Q&A session with writer Harlan Ellison. March 12 (Thursday).
  • THE EXORCIST III and THE NINTH CONFIGURATION. Olson will answer questions from the audience about two of his favorite films, both written and directed by William Peter Blatty (THE EXORCIST. March 13-14 (Friday-Saturday)
