American Cinematheque honors fantasy filmmaker George Pal next week

From Thursday, September 10 through Sunday September 13, the American Cinematheque will present The Worlds of George Pal, a four-day tribute to the late, great producer of classic fantasy and science fiction films. On hand to discuss the films will be such associates of Pal as actresses Barbara Rush, Ann Robinson, and Barbara Eden, director-producer Arnold Leibovit, and animation historian Jerry Beck.

Screenings include When Worlds Collide & Destination Moon, with Barbara Rush in person; The War of the Worlds & The Time Machine, with Ann Robinson in person; The Puppetoon Movie, with Arnold Leibovit and Jerry Beck in person; The Fantasy Film Worlds of George Pal & 7 Faces of Dr. Lao, with Arnold Leibovit in person; and The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm & Tom Thumb, with Barbara Eden in person.
