Lars Von Triers’ controversial art house film, which shocked critics at Cannes with its graphic sex and violence, gets a two-week run. Wesley Morris, of The Boston Globe, wrote: “I don’t think I breathed for the last half. My seatmate and I took turns grabbing each other – out of shock, out of stress, out of disbelief. This is to say that von Trier had us all.” And Roger Ebert had this to say: “Von Trier’s visual command is striking. And if you can think beyond what he shows to what he implies, its depths are frightening. IT IS A REAL FILM. Von Trier has reached me and shaken me.”
