Yard Haunts

Halloween 2016 Review: Backwoods Maze is back!

The Backwoods Maze yard haunt had a spectacular opening last night, once again confirming its status as the scariest Halloween home haunt in Los Angeles. Though the essence of the maze remains the same (an extensive labyrinth of elaborate sets depicting a post-apocalyptic future filled with mutants and cyborgs), there some additions, including a new room (informally dubbed “the Roger Rabbit Room”).  With traditional, professional haunted houses going practically extinct in the city, it’s more important than ever that Backwoods Maze provides professional-quality thrills.

By the way, have we ever mentioned that Backwoods Maze has a really nice front yard display? It’s as if the backyard maze eclipses everything else from memory, but the decorations are really impressive – worth a look all on their own. (Check out the photo above, courtesy of Warren So.)

The Backwoods Maze continues on October 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, 31; hours are 7-10pm. The address is 1912 North Pepper Street in Burbank. Check their Facebook page for updates.
