Beyond Fest 2021 at American Cinematheque

The annual Beyond Fest is wrapping up at the American Cinematheque. Over the course of its final week, it will present several screenings worth checking out, including U.S. premieres of The Medium and Earwig at the Los Feliz Theatre on October 6 and 7 respectively.

Other notable events include a 50th anniversary screening of A Clockwork Orange with actor Malcolm McDowell in attendance for a Q&A on Thursday at the Aero Theatre. The 4K restoration of director Director Andrzej Å»uÅ‚awski’s mondo bizarre Possession (1981, pictured at top), starring Isabelle Adjani and Same Neill, with special effects by Carlo Rambaldi, will screen on October 8 at the Aero. Cult movie fans should get a kick out of the double bill of Blood for Frankenstein and Flesh for Dracula on Friday October 10, with actor Udo Kier answering questions between the films.

Other titles on view include Maniac with Elijah Wood, The Babadook, and a double bill of Child’s Play and the pilot episode of Chucky, a new SyFy television series.
