Beyond Fest 2023

The annual Beyond Fest returns to American Cinematheque for its 11th outing. The fifteen-day festival includes a slate of fifty-five events featuring of horror, sci-fi, and exploitation titles from around the world, including five world premieres, three North American Premieres, seven US premieres, and eighteen West Coast Premieres. Highlights include The Creator, The Abyss: Special Edition, David Cronenberg’s Crash, Spooktacular (a documentary about the Halloween theme park, featuring live Q&A with Linda Blair, Kane Hodder, and more), Manhunter (featuring Q&A with Michael Mann), Hail to the King: A Celebration of Roger Corman (four-film marathon followed by discussion with Corman, Allan Arkush, Joe Dante, Ron Howard, Amy Holden Jones and Jon Davison), V/H/S/ 85, Cemetery Man, The Cassandra Cat, The Iron Giant, Pacific Rim, Ingmar Bergman’s The Magician, Final Destination, The Wicker Man (1973), and The Church.

Beyond Fest runs from September 26 through October 10. Screenings take place at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, the Los Feliz Theatre in Los Feliz, and the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood.
