Bolt with Live Stage Show

Currently in nationwide release, this computer animated comedy (about a lost dog who stars as a superhero – and really thinks he is a superhero) is playing an extended engagement at the Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood – in Disney Digital 3D, no less. Per their usual tradition, Disney is presenting an elaborate live stage show before the screenings. The self-described “Holiday Spectacular” presents lots of colorfully costumed characters singing hit songs from the Disney repertoire. Although I’ve always suspected that there was more lip-synching than actual singing at these shows, I do appreciate the effort to turn the movie-going experience into something special. The film runs through January 4, 2009.
