Description: This Halloween haunt in Corona returns for another season of scares. Hollywood Gothique has yet to make the long sojourn, but Coffin Creek’s reputation is sorely tempting us. There are five haunted attractions: one hayride, two guided tours, and two unaccompanied walk-throughs.
The haunted attractions are: Lone Hill Manor, Scarecrow Trail, Shady Hollow Hayride, Chambers of the Mausoleum, and Labyrinth of Lost Relics. There are also vendors at the Dark Shadow Market Place.
The truncated back story of the haunt (cleverly presented on the website as a newspaper article with the “continued on page 3” section missing) tells of 13 coffins found in a wooded area after a flood, believed to have been washed away from the abandoned Guasti Cemetery in Ontario. Strangely, most of the coffins were empty, and police called off the search after dark, upon hearing and seeing strange things in the woods. (We assume the “Guasti Cemetery in Ontario” is a reference to Ontario’s The Haunted Vineyard, which set its story in the “Guasti winery.”)
