Danny Elfman returning to Hollywood Bowl for Halloween 2016, singing Nightmare Before Christmas

Celebrating Halloween 2016, Danny Elfman will return to the Hollywood Bowl for three performances on October 28-29-30, providing live musical accompaniment to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The live orchestral performances, conducted by John Mauceri, will feature Elfman singing the role of Jack Skelington. Cast members Paul Reubens (Lock), Catherine O’Hara (Sally), and Ken Page (Oogie Boogie) will also be singing their roles from the film.

Tickets range from $58 to $104, depending on seating.

Performances begin at 8pm on Friday and Saturday, 6:30pm on Sunday. Arrive early for a Tim Burton-themed costume contest and other activities that should appeal to the whole family.

The Hollywood Bowl is located at 2301 Highland Avenue in Los Angeles. Call 323.850.2000 for more information, or visit: hollywoodbowl.com.

Danny Elfman’s Halloween at the Hollywood Bowl: The Nightmare Before Christmas made its debut on Halloween Night in 2015. Its return suggests it may become an annual Halloween event, though no one is saying so for sure – not yet, anyway. However, in an article at the L.A. Times, producer Laura Engel noted, “L.A. doesn’t have an upscale Halloween event to go to — a place to take your family that isn’t a haunted house type thing. This fits a major niche.”
