The new Disney computer-animated 3-D version of Charles Dickens’ classic tale opens nationwide, but Los Angeles-area film-goers get a special treat, thanks to a two-month run at the Disney-owned El Capitan in Hollywood, from November 6 to January 3. Screenings are preceded by a new, live “Holiday Spectacular” stage show (no doubt featuring lots of Christmas carols). In the lobby, you can get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, with props and costumes on display, and on Sundays you can enjoy a Holiday breakfast special: Before Every 10am show, come to Disney’s Soda Fountain & Studio Store for breakfast where you can meet and get your picture taken with a special Disney Character. Reserve your spot at breakfast today! Seating is limited.
About that title: Disney’s Christmas Carol? What about poor Charles Dickens? No doubt the title indicates that director Robert Zemeckis and star Jim Carrey have felt free to improve upon the classic text with all their new high-tech computer technology.
