Drama After Dark confirms that the group will be performing at the Night of the Living Zoo this Halloween. The event – which puts a spooky overlay onto the Los Angeles Zoo – takes place on Friday, October 24, from 7pm to 11pm. Expect roaming ghouls, scary sounds, eerie effects, live music, and a costume contest as you wander the enclosures holding the wild animals.

Drama After Dark: A Night of the Macabre with Poe and Gorey has been performed for the last ten years or so at the Huntington Gardens in San Marino; however, scheduled conflicts prevented a return engagement for Halloween 2014. The show normally consists of 10-12 short plays (such as “The Black Cat”) performed at half hour intervals, with audiences scrambling around in the dark to reach the different locations, seeing up to six of the plays in a three-hour time period.

According to Drama After Dark’s Facebook page, not all of the plays will be performed at Night of the Living Zoo:

We won’t have everything there this year, but we’ll have some great stuff.

If you are interested in the full show, Drama After Dark: A Night of Poe and Gorey will also be performing at the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, 12505 Cultural Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739.

Night of the Living Zoo takes place at Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens, 5333 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027 Phone: (323) 644-4200. More info is available here.
