Fallen Saints: Salem (Video Interview)

Creative director Sebastian Muñoz discusses Salem, the fourth installment of Fallen Saints, the annual Halloween play from Force of Nature Productions. Featuring horror stories inspired by legends and history Darkness (such as Jack the Ripper and La Llorona), the ongoing series is loosely connected by the presence of a recurring character, Darkness.

Written by Kerry Kazmierowicztrimm and directed by Muñoz, Salem is a fictionalized account of the 1692 witchcraft scare, which takes an approach somewhat reminiscent of the Twilight Zone episode “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street,” depicting a community turning on itself with tragic results when driven by fear of a terrifying threat within its midst (in this case, witches rather than aliens).

Fallen Saints: Salem runs on Fridays and Saturdays from through October 12, with performances at 8:30pm and 10pm nightly in the Actors Workout Studio at 4735 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood. The official website for Force of Nature Productions is: fonproductions.com.
