Faustian Bargain

I have received an email from a marketing company that is “interested in developing editorial content for your website.” The proposed article, I am reliably informed, will be “professionally written” and consistent with Hollywood Gothique’s theme. In exchange, the marketing company “would be happy to pay an administration fee of $150 for your time spent reviewing and publishing our content.”

What they don’t say, of course, is that the “editorial content” will be filled with references and links to their clients they are trying to promote.

Should I do this? Not sure. This reminds me of something. A myth or a legend. Can’t quite put my finger on it.
