Go Fund Boney Island

The Boney Island Yard Haunt  is crowd-funding its 2016 presentation. The whimsical Halloween home haunt is an all-volunteer effort, free to neighbors and the general public, that has been self-funded for nearly two decades, but as presentation has grown more elaborate, the costs have climbed as well – and so have the crowds of eager fans. This year, Boney Island will require traffic officers to maintain safe crowd control. Spillage onto the streets of the corner house has not been uncommon the past few years; though the house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, the number of cars searching for parking spaces does present a danger to pedestrians who wander off the curb.

You can make a donation at gofundme.com/boneyisland. There are some very nice incentives for contribution: among other options, you can be in the show for an hour as a magician or a fortune-teller, or you can rent the Boney Island Treehouse overlooking the spectacle taking place on the yard below.

Boney Island runs on October 22 through 31 this Halloween season, from 6pm to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, from 6pm to 9pm Sunday through Thursday. The address is 4602 Morse Avenue, Sherman Oaks, CA 91432. Visit www.boneyisland.com for more info.
