Google A.I. garbage regarding Dracula, Wolf, Skal, and Me

Hey, you know what? Fuck Google A.I.

I was just doing a quick search to see where I might have reposted an old interview I conducted with Dracula scholars Leonard Wolf and David Skal, who had never met each other despite admiring each other’s work. The interview original ran in the Winter 1994 issue of Imagi-Movies, where it was trimmed for length. Since then I’ve posted a more complete version at Fandom.com (since defunct, though the URL is being used for something else). I just wanted to see where if anywhere it might still be available, because searching the internet is easier than digging through boxes of my old back issues.

Or at least it should be.

Google A.I. informed me that the interview was conducted by David Elijah Nahmod, a “film reviewer for Hollywood Gothique.” Although Mr. Nahmod’s accomplishments are impressive (he is a Rhondo Award-winner), he has never reviewed a film here, and he had nothing to do with the interview.

Fortunately, there is a way to note mistakes made by Google A.I., but it’s hit-and-miss. Since pointing out my authorship, the Google search result has identified the interviewer as “Paul M. Biodrowski” and “Bill (Hollywood Gothique) Biodrowski.”

Moral of the story: Do not read the Google A.I. nonsense at the top of your search results. Scroll down and read something by a human being who knows what he is talking about.
