Description: This week, the Grindhouse Film Festival presents two terrifying tales from the east. We have never seen the Taiwainese KUNG FU HALLOWEEN (also known as “Fight for Survival”) but it sounds more like over-the-top martial arts mayhem than true horror. EVIL CAT is a campy hoot for lovers of Hong Kong cinema, about a demon jumping from body to body, giving its hosts cat-like mannerisms (which are more silly than scary). And when it finally fully manifests in human form, it looks as if it just stepped off the stage of a touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS! Not really good, but goofy enough to be enjoyable. All tickets $8
