Halloween 2014: Heritage Haunt presents Ghost Adventures
Sad new: The Heritage Haunt in Newhall will not be haunting for Halloween 2014. Or will it?
Let’s put it this way: There will be no Halloween attraction featuring a walk-through maze filled with decorations, special effects, and costumed characters. However, the non-profit event will offer a guided tour of its allegedly haunted location, Heritage Junction at Hart Park. Heritage Haunt has always been rather unusual, in that is set set in and raises money for actual buildings preserved by the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society, such as the Newhall Ranch House and the Saugus Train Station, many of which are said to be haunted. Private paranormal tours take place there year round, and the Heritage Haunt would usually include one or two during its Halloween festivities.
This year’s “Ghost Adventure” will fill visitors in on the history of the hauntings, then escort groups of 10 through each building to experience any paranormal activity that might take place. Heritage Haunt promises it will not be augmenting the experience with any special effects, claiming, “This is 100 per cent real.”
Dates for the Ghost Adventure are not yet available but will be announced soon (probably Friday and Saturday, the last week or two of October).
