Mazes, Rides, Fun Houses & VR: The Best Halloween Haunted Houses in Los Angeles
This page includes professional, stand-alone Halloween Haunted House attractions in the Greater Los Angeles area: walk-through mazes and fun houses, along with haunted hayrides and VR attractions. Larger Halloween Events are listed as Halloween Theme Parks.
These are seasonal haunts, although some are open at other times of the year. Most are set in permanent locations; a few pop up in temporary structures during October.
Many haunted house events offer more than a walk-through maze. Some come close to being mini-theme park attractions, with stage shows, scare zones, and rides that offer a full evening’s entertainment.
This page does not include amateur yard haunts or immersive theatrical experiences even if they do utilize a haunted house setting. Scroll down the page for an explanation of how we define a “Halloween Haunted House.”

Halloween Haunted Houses: What Makes Them “Professional”?
If Haunted Houses charge admission, they’re professional, even if they are non-profit.
We have designated the Halloween Haunted Houses listed above as “professional,” because they charge admission and offer a professional-quality presentation. Some of them are non-profit community or fund-raiser events; nevertheless, they maintain professional standards that would be ill-served by labeling them as “amateur” efforts. We have omitted yard haunts like Beware the Dark Realm, dramatic presentations like Delusion: Interactive Theatre, and immersive experiences like House of Spirits even if they do use haunted house settings. These attractions can be found listed under Halloween Home Haunts, Halloween Theatre, and Halloween Festivities, respectively.
Los Angeles fans seeking something more than traditional haunted house attractions should check out our other categories: Halloween Theme Parks and Halloween Haunts for Children. You can find navigation links in the left hand bar. If you are not quite sure what category suits you, we offer an all-inclusive alphabetical Halloween Haunts Master List, which can be found here.
If you did not find any Halloween Haunted Houses that suit your interests, check out this page at Thrill List.
