Haunt of Halloween

Hollywood Gothique Says:

Back when the creators were doing Long Beach Zombie Fest, they offered an all-day festival of fun for the whole family, including zombie makeup applications, a reptile house, a marketplace, and a 3500-square-toof haunted maze with an exterior zombie outbreak area. Haunt of Halloween ports over many of those elements, but the new nighttime event bills itself as a haunted attraction with an emphasis on scares, particularly in the new and larger Outbreak 13 maze.

Haunt of Halloween & Long Beach Zombie Fest: History

For several years, the Long Beach Zombie Fest offered a weekend of Halloween fun, including a zombie walk through Shoreline Village. Other activities included workshops, scare zones, a maze, a sideshow museum, laser tag, a costume contest, and more. The festival’s last year was 2018; the attraction was cancelled at the last minute in 2019, and the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 prevented a return.

In 2021, a new attraction took its place, Haunt of Halloween in Mission Viejo. The attraction included elements from Zombie Fest, but instead of a one-weekend festival, Haunt of Halloween offered a month-long haunted house attraction. The centerpiece was Outpost 13, a 5,000-square-foot haunted maze “designed to shock your senses, test your limits, and bring out your deepest fears.” Also noteworthy was a scare zone that turned the tables, providing guests an opportunity to do the scaring.
