Eek! at the Greek
Those looking for family-friendly Halloween fun in Los Angeles had no need to look no further than this annual Halloween concert of chilling classical music! Haunting the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles since 2011, Eek at the Greek offered Halloween treats for the whole family, including scary symphony music and a Trick-or-Treat village. Presented by the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Eek! at the Greek featured the 60-piece Symphony in the Glen Orchestra, conducted by Arthur B. Rubinstein, performing music that engaged audiences of all ages.
Before the concert, the Trick-or-Treat Village was open in the front plaza of the Greek Theatre, where children could enjoy face-painting, safe trick-or-treating, and other arts and crafts. There was also a pre-show costume contest, where nominees were selected, with the winners picked later on stage during intermission.
Eek! at the Greek Status
Eek! at the Greek has been “on hiatus” since its last performance in 2015. The annual Halloween event was a victim of a change of ownership at The Greek Theatre, leaving Nederlander Concerts no longer in control of the schedule. Though it is not impossible that EEK! at the Greek! could return, we no longer expect it.
