Los Angeles Halloween Museum Exhibitions, Art Galleries & Haunted Tours
Here you will find an eclectic list of high-culture and historical Halloween events in Los Angeles: night galleries devoted to macabre painting, photographs, and carvings; museums revealing secrets of death, dying, and spiritualism; historical tours emphasizing the sordid and the supernatural; and midnight ramblings among gravestones in real cemeteries. Whether you enjoy the subtle shivers of wandering through allegedly haunted locations or the refined pleasures of appreciating macabre art, this is the place for you.
The fright factor of these Los Angeles Halloween art galleries, museum exhibitions, and cemetery tours varies widely. Museums use the season to generate interest in customs related to Halloween and beliefs in the afterlife. Cemetery tours tend to be educational in nature, emphasizing history rather than horror. Art galleries may be eerie but seldom frightful, and outdoor art shows of lighted pumpkins can be outright festive.
