Trick-or-Treating, Pumpkin Patches, Spooky Sleepovers, Costume Parties: The Best Kid-Friendly Halloween Fun in Los Angeles
Looking for Kid-Friendly Halloween Fun in Los Angeles? The Southland offers many kid-safe seasonal events. Some are “lights-on” versions of scary night-time haunts; others are special afternoon or one-day presentations that take place in year-round facilities such as zoos and wildlife stations. Also, many L.A. neighborhoods get so far into the seasonal spirit that they appeal not only to local kids but also to outside families, who come to enjoy the decorated yard haunt displays and trick-or-treating opportunities.
NOTE: This pages lists Kid-Friendly Halloween Fun targeted predominantly for children. However, there are Halloween activities listed elsewhere on our website that appeal to the whole family:
- Halloween Festivities sometimes include local events designed for neighborhood parents with children.
- Â Halloween Home Haunts are a great way to enjoy the holiday with your children. Most are safe for kids, especially if they are simply yard haunts, without a walk-through maze or actors portraying monsters.
- Halloween Mazes and Rides frequently present family-friendly matinees on weekend afternoons. Unfortunately, these will usually not be available on Halloween Night.
- The Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation offers Halloween events at several of their centers around town. Check their website for info.

Unfortunately, the Halloween events we normally list here are closed for 2020 due to Covid-19.
