Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns

Halloween 2024: Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns returns for its second year in Los Angeles.

Dates: Weekends plus select weeknights from September 20 through November 2. 

Hours: 7-11pm Fridays & Saturdays, 7-10pm Sundays & weeknights. Earlier start times in October and November; check website for exact times.

Tickets: Prices start at $24.99 for children and $29.99 for adults. Additional fees for add-ons: preferred parking, 3D glasses, ‘Smores package.

Location: Whittier Narrows Recreation Center – 750 S. Santa Anita Avenue in South El Monte.

Quick Take: Like other Halloween pumpkin festivals, Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns offers an outdoor trail filled with carved pumpkins and numerous themed displays: dinosaurs, sea life, celebrities, Dia de Los Muertos, a cemetery, etc. It is mildly spooky at most and relatively short – ideally suited for families with young children.
