2021 Update: Westchester Park is no longer closed due to Covid-19. The old walk-through haunt has apparently been retired to make room in the gym for the Halloween Kid Zone, which remains on the annual schedule.

Young trick-or-treaters and their parents are invited to a “not so scary” event in Westchester Park’s gym for games, scary stories, a costume contest, and more.
Westchester Haunted Park History
For over three decades, Westchester Park offered a scary walk-through attraction in addition to the Halloween Kid Zone. During the final days of October, this impressive amateur effort transformed the park’s gymnasium into “Westchester Haunted Park” – a name that was eventually switched to to “Park of Pain.” Geared for local trick-or-treaters, the settings were fairly simple, but the mazes were lengthy; the monsters were not too scary for the youngsters, but they made an effort to put on a good spook-show that worked for the whole family. The event was recommend for adults and children 7 years and older.
Unfortunately, the Park of Pain has not been listed on Westchester Park’s schedule since Halloween 2018. We doubt it will make a comeback during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is sad to think the end has come for a long-running event that served its community so well.
