After enjoying the new Fun House at the Reign of Terror Haunted House in Thousand Oaks, Hollywood Gothique took advantage of the relative proximity to visit the Via Del Lago Haunt in nearby Newbury Park. Located at 418 Via Del Lago, this decorated yard haunt is officially unnamed as far as we can tell (a sign outside reads simply “cemetery”) so we named the haunt after the street upon which it resides.

There’s a very nice grim reaper figure that speaks when triggered, bragging that it will consume your life force to sustain itself. Other than that, the sound effects were off when we went by after 10pm; so were some of the lights on the house, leaving only the decorated yard illuminated. If you want to check out the Via Del Lago haunt, get there a little bit earlier, or go on Halloween Night, when it may be open later.
