Description: Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood opens its crypt on yet another  extravaganza, which promises to be even bigger and better than past incarnations.
This year there are six mazes (instead of four), and almost all of them are new for Halloween 2011: THE THING: ASSIMILATION, ELI ROTH’S HOSTEL: HUNTING SEASON; ALICE COOPER: WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE; LA LLAORONA: VILLA DE ALMAS PERDIDAS; THE WOLFMAN: THE CURSE OF TALBOT HALL; and the sole returning entry, ROB ZOMBIE’S HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES IN 3D.
As if that were not enough, there is also the 2011 Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life, and five scare zones: Scream, Zombieville, The Reapers, Klownz, and Freakz. And of course, the inevitable Bill and Ted Show gives you an excuse to sit down for a series of zany pop culture zingers, so you can catch your breath before heading back into the dark night, filled with terror.
This year’s dates are September 23-24 & 30; October 1, 7-9, 14-16, 20-23, 27-31. Hours are 7pm through 2am on Fridays and Saturdays; the park closes at 1am on Sundays and Halloween Night, which falls on a Monday this year.
Tickets range from $37 to $57 in advance, $62 at the door. Front of the Line Passes are available for $69-89, or you can take advantage of the VIP Experience for $169-189. There is also a Day-Night Combo Ticket for $85.
