Heritage Haunt 2010: Final Year?

We have just received an email from the manager at Heritage Haunt, indicating that 2010 will be the final Halloween for the attraction. This is hard news to accept but relatively easy to understand. Heritage Haunt is a non-profit event that relies on volunteers, but it is produced on a professional level, with all the difficulties that implies, including construction permits and so forth. Some of the problems mentioned in my review of this year’s Heritage Haunt were apparently caused by bureaucratic red tape. Ah, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune…

Under the circumstances, I suggest that, if you have never been to Heritage Haunt, you make a point of getting out to Hart Park in Newhall over the course of the next two weekends . If 2010 truly is the haunt’s final Halloween, you owe it to yourself to make the effort, even if this year is not quite up to the standard set in past manifestations. And if the news of Heritage Haunt’s demise turns out to be premature, we can only hope that  the attraction returns some Halloween, even bigger and better than before…
