Hollywood Gothique to moderate Wicked Lit Book Signing

Top: Wicked Lit playwrights will read from their published works.

On Sunday, January 13, Hollywood Gothique will moderate a discussion with the creators of the Wicked Lit Halloween Theatre Festival. The event, taking place at Dark Delicacies in Burbank, will feature five Wicked Lit playwrights, discussing the creative process of adapting classic horror literature into immersive plays staged inside the Mountainview Mausoleum and Cemetery. Guests will also read from their published works, which have been collected into three volumes, which will be on sale at the book store.

Scheduled guests are Jonathan Josephson (adaptor of Las Lloronas, The New Catacomb, and others), Paul Millet (adaptor of The Cask of Amontillado, The Shadowy Third, and others), Susannah Myrvold (adaptor of The Ebony Frame), Trey Nichols (adaptor of From Beyond), and Jeff G. Rack (adaptor of The Monkey’s Paw, The Doll, and others). Yours truly will lead the question-and-answer session.

Guests will sign up to three items per customer, but at least one must be purchased at Dark Delicacies on the day of the event. The Wicked Lit books include:

  1. Wicked Lit: Volume I: Includes the Wicked Lit adaptations of The Body Snatcher, The Cask of Amontillado, The Chimes: a Goblin Story, The Grove of Rashomon, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Las Lloronas, The Monkey’s Paw, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Unnamable.
  2. Wicked Lit: Volume II: Includes the Wicked Lit adaptations of A Ghost Story, Anansi and the Demons, The Doll, The Ebony Frame, The Fall of the House of Usher, From Beyond, The New Catacomb, The Shadowy Third, and The Yellow Wallpaper.
