Los Angeles Haunted Hayride: quick take

After taking a trip aboard the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, we’re happy to say we enjoyed this year’s journey much more than expected. We were dubious about the decision to celebrate the Haunted Hayride’s “silver anniversary” by resurrecting several of the haunt’s most memorable moments. For one thing, Halloween 2018 is the Hayride’s 10th year of haunting but only its 9th anniversary (unless one counts 2009 as both its debut and its first anniversary). For another, we were afraid the result would be a hodgepodge – the Hayride is usually better when it follows a clearly defined theme. Fortunately, our reservations were completely unfounded, and the result was less a greatest hits compilation than a clever medley, re-orchestrated to make the old songs sound new. We’ll be back to tell you all about it as soon as possible.
