Music Video: Prelude to Darkness/Gothic Girl

Here is my video of Gothique’s cover version of “Gothic Girl,” originally recorded by The 69 Eyes. I did a new arrangement, added an instrumental introduction (“Prelude to Darkness”), and tweaked the lyrics slightly to turn the song into a tribute to actress Barbara Steele, who starred in some wonderfully atmospheric Gothic horror movies in the 1960s. Ms. Steele truly should be the patron saint of Goths.

The original words and music of “Gothic Girl” were written by Jyrki 69, Bazie, The 69 Eyes, Jussi69, Johnny Lee Michaels. You can see the music video of the 69 Eyes’ version here.
