New Beverly’s 5th Annual All-Night Horror Show announces titles

We marked our calendars months ago, when the New Beverly Cinema first announced the date of this year’s Halloween horror marathon, which is presented in association with the Grindhouse Film Festival. Now they have finally let their public in on what films will be screening – an eclectic selection of rarely screened cult titles, most of which have not been seen on theatre screens in decades. All will be presented in 35mm prints.

Here are the titles listed in the official announcement:

STRANGE BEHAVIOR (1981) [105 min.] Directed by Michael Laughlin. Written by Bill Condon and Michael Laughlin. Starring Michael Murphy, Louise Fletcher, Dan Shor, Fiona Lewis, Arthur Dignam, Dey Young, Marc McClure, Scott Brady, Charles Lane and Jim Boelson. [First LA screening since original 1980’s release by the long-defunct World Northal Corp]

NIGHT MONSTER (1942) [73 min.] Directed by Ford Beebe. Starring Bela Lugosi, Lionel Atwill, Leif Erickson, Irene Hervey, Ralph Morgan, Don Porter and Nils Asther. [First LA screening of this rare Lugosi film since the 1949 Realart re-release]

CURTAINS (1983) [89 min.] Directed by Richard Ciupka. Starring John Vernon, Samantha Eggar, Linda Thorson, Anne Ditchburn, Lynne Griffin and Sandee Currie. [To the best of our knowledge, the first LA screening since the 1980’s]

The 5th Annual All-Night Horror Show takes place on October 13 at the New Beverly Cinema, 7165 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036. The event starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 (limit 5 per customer). Wristbands will be issued to allow customers to exit and re-enter.
