Here a Halloween home haunt we have overlooked for more than a decade: The Blackthorne Haunted House in Lakewood, California (not too far from the Horror on Frankel Street). According to the official website, Blackthorne Haunt has been terrorizing neighbors since 2004, growing each year and shifting its theme to keep its Halloween horrors fresh.

Hollywood has never attended, but judging from photos on Instagram and the Facebook, Blackthorne Haunt features professional-looking character design, makeup, and set-construction, enhanced with great lighting and effects.

This year’s theme will not be announced until Tuesday, but construction is underway and the haunt has confirmed that it will be open on October 24, 30, 31.

The address is 5503 Blackthorne Avenue, Lakewood, California.

This is just the antidote that Los Angeles Halloween fans need to cure them of the lingering effects from the 2015 haunt drought, caused by so many unfortunate closures of well-loved events and attractions.
