Nights Of The Jack 2019 Review

Back for a second Halloween season, Nights of the Jack: A Halloween Jack O’Lantern Experience is once again lighting up the legendary King Gillette Ranch in the hills of Calabasas. This fun-filled event is perfect for a family outing or a simple date night. There are no jump scares, and everything is kid-friendly…well, except for the “Spookeasy.”

What’s new this year? Nights Of The Jack has teamed up with Nickelodeon to present a Spongebob Squarepants Pumpkin Exhibit and an Are You Afraid of the Dark Pop-Up Experience. Also added to the mix for Halloween 2019 is a Jack O’Lantern Infinity Room Experience, sort of like Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Room at The Broad museum but with Jack O’Lanterns. Add that to the various photo-ops, expanded food truck selections, the bar, and you have yourself a night out with unlimited potential.

Nights Of The Jack 2019 Halloween Review: The Trail

Returning guests can expect a great experience similar to the inaugural season. The trail, containing carved pumpkins with great detail, is a continuous assembly line of eye candy. With themes ranging from dinosaurs to under the sea to Dia de los Muertos to haunted graveyards to planets to celebrities and L.A. lifestyle, Nights of the Jack gives you plenty of visuals to keep your enthusiasm and excitement level high.

As if the aforementioned isn’t enough, there is also the neat little returning Jack O’Lantern choir section, and new this year is the Spongebob Squarepants pumpkin exhibit. Now that is a sight to see, one of those you-really-need-to-be there things. Though technically not carved from pumpkins, Spongebob and his buddies from the show are larger than life-sized lanterns. And of course his home and the stores from the show are there to complete the setting.

Nights Of The Jack 2019  Halloween Review: Conclusion

Last year, the owner of Nights of the Jack promised a bigger experience for 2019, and that he did indeed deliver. With a greater selection of food, larger photo-op area, and more activities, this is an event where you can easily maximize your four or five hours, should you choose to stay the entire duration.
