October Shadows 2014: Opening Night Reception photos

If it’s October, that means it must be time for October Shadows, the annual exhibition of Halloween-themed art, presented by Creatures Features. The opening night reception for October Shadows VII took place on Saturday, October 11, and Hollywood Gothique was there to view the sinister sculptures, peculiar paintings, malevolent masks, dreadful dolls, fearful folk art, and other representations of the weird and the strange.

The gallery (a back room in the Creature Features store) is smaller than previous venues for October Shadows, and some of the larger busts and sculptures seemed to be creeping onto the shelves in the main room. It was a tight fit in the gallery, with artists and patrons rubbing shoulders, but we managed to negotiate a path without bumping too many shoulders, so that we could bring you these photos.

All of the artwork on view at October Shadows is on sale, either as original works or as prints.
