Description: For 2013, Old Pasadena’s annual Halloween Celebration offers two days of haunted happenings suitable for the entire family! On Day 1 – Saturday, October 26 – there will be pumpkin decorating in One Colorado Courtyard from 10am to noon, followed by a kid-friendly haunted house from noon to 4pm. The pumpkins are free, and go home with their creators; the haunted house (recommended for ages 7 and up) costs $10.

On Halloween Night, the Old Pasadena Halloween Celebration continues, when over 100 stores and restaurants open their doors for free trick-or-treating – one of the largest civic destinations for Halloween fun in the Los Angeles area. Starting at 5pm, merchants will supply a variety of candy to youngsters in costume. There will be costumed characters on Colorado Boulevard, and Old Pasadena guides will lurk in the area, offering Halloween eggs with unique prizes and candy inside.

Also on Halloween Night, One Colorado Courtyard will offer free, professional photos shot against a Halloween-themed background, and there will be screenings of HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA at 6pm and BEETLEJUICE at 8pm.

Those with a taste for stronger scares may wander over to the Old Town Haunt Halloween Attraction, at 20 North Raymond Street, which is having its final haunting in 2013.

PASADENA, CA. (September, 2013) – Bring the family for a spooktacular good time with free Halloween fun in Old Pasadena, on Saturday, October 26, and Thursday, October 31. Themed activities include kids’ pumpkin decorating, store-to-store trick-or-treating, costumed character meet and greet, free haunted photos, a haunted house, outdoor screenings of Hotel Transylvania and Beetlejuice, and much more!

The celebration begins on Saturday, October 26,from 10am to 12pm in the One Colorado Courtyard with free Halloween pumpkin decorating. Children are invited to create their very own Halloween Jack-O-Lantern. The pumpkins are first-come-first-serve, and all creations go home with their creators. The fun continues with a special kid-friendly haunted house (ages 7 and up recommended), at the famed Old Town Haunt from 12pm-4pm ($10).

On Halloween eve, Thursday, October 31 more than 100 stores and restaurants in Old Pasadena open their doors for free store-to-store trick-or-treating, making Old Pasadena one of the largest civic trick-or-treating destinations in Southern California. The fun begins at 5pm when merchants supply a variety of candy and confections for all the dressed up little ones in attendance. Be on the lookout for Old Pasadena guides handing out fun little Halloween eggs filled with unique prizes and candy. Head over to the One Colorado Courtyard for free professional, haunted photos against a Halloween themed background and hundreds of pumpkins. One Colorado also hosts outdoor screenings of the popular animated feature Hotel Transylvania at 6pm and Tim Burton’s classic Beetlejuice at 8pm. Throughout the celebration, guests can enjoy a unique opportunity to meet and greet various popular Halloween costumed characters along Colorado Blvd.

Those looking for a thrill are invited to visit the Old Town Haunt, Pasadena’s award-winning scary haunted house. Descend into the darkness of the basement at the historical Union Savings Bank Building where rumor has it, mysterious occurrences have taken place in the building’s deadly 109 year history, including reports of hideous screams and odors of decay. Now the building is open to the public for chilling tours into the catacombs where ghosts and goblins meet from 7pm-12am ($17).

The Old Pasadena Halloween Celebration is presented by Old Pasadena Management and One Colorado with partnership from the Old Town Haunt. All activities are free except the Old Town Haunt, which is $17 general admission for normal tours and $10 for the kid-friendly tour.
