Old Town Music Haunt 2016

dracula-1931-posterEl Segundo’s Old Town Music Hall – which screens classic movies every weekend – resurrects their annual “Old Town Music Haunt” series of black-and-white horror films for the Halloween season. 2016’s titles are exclusively derived from the output of Universal Pictures during their classic period, which lasted from the 1920s through the 1940s. The Black Cat, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, The Bride of Frankenstein , and The Phantom of the Opera (1925 silent version).

  • The Black Cat on Friday, September 30 at 8:15pm
  • Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein on Saturday, October 1 at 2:30pm and 8:15pm
  • Dracula on Friday October 7 at 8:15pm and Saturday, October 8 at 2:30pm
  • Frankenstein on Saturday, October 8 at 8:15pm and Sunday, October 9 at 2:30pm
  • The Mummy on Friday October 14 at 8:15pm and Saturday, October 15 at 2:30pm
  • The Invisible Man on Saturday, October 15 at 8:15pm and Sunday, October 16 at 2:30pm
  • The Wolf Man on Friday, October 21 at 8:15pm and Saturday, October 22 at 2:30pm
  • The Bride of Frankenstein on Saturday, October 22 at 8:15pm and Sunday, October 23 at 2:30pm
  • The Phantom of the Opera on Friday, October 28 at 8:15pm and Saturday October 29 at 2:30pm and 8:15pm

creature-from-the-black-lagoon-1954-posterIn addition, there will be a “Sci-Fi Sunday” screening of Universal’s The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) on Sunday, October 16 at 7:30pm. (Sci-Fi Sunday screenings take place year-round.)

The Old Town Music Hall will begin each show with a live musical performance on its in-house Wurlitzer organ, including an audience sing along. After a short comedy film and a 15-minute intermission, the feature film will commence. There will also be live music to accompany The Phantom of the Opera.

Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors 62 and over. Doors open a half-hour before show time. No advance tickets.
