Description: The Astra Dance Company invites you to step back in time and experience the world of Edgar Allan Poe, returned to life. They will perform “Astra,” their waltz ballet in three acts, followed by a turn-of-the-century burlesque show, featuring a Goth Couture Fashion show, a costume contest, DJ Wolfie, Wandering Marionettes, Tarot card readings, and more.

Tickets ar $40 for General Admission, $65 for VIP.

Doors open at 7pm; performance begins at 8pm.

NOTE: The Astra Dance Company performs “Astra” also at the Million Dollar Theatre, on October 22-23 and 29-30.

UPDATE – October 27: This event appears to have been cancelled or at least replaced by another. The latest press relese from the Astra Dance Company makes no mention of their Poe-Etic Ball at El Rey Theatre. Instead, guests are invited to a the Hex Hollywood Halloween Party, put on by the Malediction Society:
