Pride or Die coming to Rad Coffee Long Beach

Next weekend, Horror in Color presents Pride or Die, a horror-themed celebration of LGBTQIA+ identity, at the new Rad Coffee location in Long Beach. Guests are invited to shop at a mini-marketplace of Horror vendors while enjoying an exclusive Rad Coffee drink benefitting LGBTQ+ charities. Entertainment includes Drag King Charles Galin and an interactive performance from Lights Out Creative. Horror in Color is an “intersectional community for marginalized voices in horror, especially women, people of color, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, and allies.” The event runs from 5:30pm to 9:30pm on Saturday, July 9. Rad Coffee is an indie company with a punk-horror vibe, which has three locations (including Covina, reviewed here), plus a coffee truck that horror fans will recognize from appearances at Midsummer Scream, Season’s Screamings, Coven Weekend, and other spooky events. HORROR MEETS LGBTQIA+ PRIDE FOR 2ND ANNUAL “PRIDE OR DIE” CELEBRATION

Horror in Color’s LGBTQIA+ celebration returns with a mini-marketplace of vendors, novelty drinks, interactive performers, and more at Rad Coffee’s NEW Long Beach location. LONG BEACH, CA – Horror in Color is bringing back their celebration of intersectional identity to a new venue just in time to coincide with Long Beach Pride. Next Saturday, July 9th, their 2nd Annual Pride or Die event will bring a diverse mini-marketplace of Horror vendors that range from apparel to hand-painted art pieces. From 5:30pm – 9:30pm, guests will enjoy a wonderfully creepy atmosphere that will come to life with interactive performers from Lights Out Creative. Rounding out the night is a special appearance from Drag performer Charles Galin. All of this is happening at Rad Coffee’s newest location in the heart of Long Beach (3502 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA.)

The popular SoCal coffee chain will be offering a limited-time lemonade, with sales benefitting a local LGBTQIA+ resource for mental health. Known for providing free, LGBTQIA+ affirming counseling services, Colors Youth is making a positive impact on local LA communities.

“As an LGBTQIA-owned platform, teaming up with Rad Coffee for LGBTQIA+ mental health is the real heart of our event,” shared Horror in Color Co-Founder Ivan Daniel Luna.

Horror in Color is a growing platform painting the Horror genre with colors of intersectional diversity, inclusion and equity. They aim to make the genre accessible to all, especially women, People of Color, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities. Notable guests range from American Horror Story’s Angelica Ross to music trailblazer Tinashe.

Rad Coffee is an independent coffee company established in 2015 by husband and wife team, Rusty and Jade Valore. Their growing number of locations include Upland, Covina, and Long Beach. The Rad Coffee brand also includes The Rad Coffee Truck, an exclusive array of merch featuring designs from indie artists, and an in-house roasted line of take-home coffee including canned cold brew and bagged beans.
