Location: Old Town Music Hall, 140 Richmond Street, El Segundo, CA 90245

Dates: October 24-26

Description: As part of its series of classic Halloween screenings, Old Town Music Hall presents the 1925 black-and-white silent version of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, starring Lon Chaney (“The Man of a Thousand Faces”) in the title role. Though dated in style, the film stands as a classic thanks to Chaney’s makeup and performance as the disfigured Phantom, as well as the elaborate, atmospheric sets for the Paris Opera house.

Instead of using one of the music tracks added to the film for contemporary screenings and home video, Old Town Music Hall will provide good, old-fashioned live musical accompaniment on the theatre’s Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, which quite literally has all the bells and whistles. This is a must for fans of silent cinema or those with an interest in music.

Screenings are on Friday at 8:15pm; Saturday at 2:30pm and 8:15pm; and Sunday 2:30pm. Every show begins with music played on the pipe organ, an audience sing along, and a comedy short. There is a 15-minute intermission, followed by the feature film.

Tickets are $10.00 ($8.00 for seniors 62+) Tickets go on sale at the door thirty minutes before show time. No advance sales.
