Remake holocaust and the agony of blogging

Over at Arrow in the Head, Ammon Gilbert laments the announcement that CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST – the infamous low-budget cult horror film – is slated for the remake treatment.

The funny thing is that, after calling the project a “stupid idea,” he then urges his readers to check back for casting updates as he hears them.

There’s a certain irony in absolutely dismissing something as a waste of time and then promising to devote time to covering it, but I guess that’s the nature of reporting on any subject. Some things just don’t interest you, but the fact that they’re happening makes them news, so it’s hard to ignore them. After all, if you don’t cover them, your competition probably will, and readers looking for information will go where they find it.

Thus doth conscience make cowards of us all…
