Return to the Gothic Bar

During a recent trip to the Pacific Seas tiki room at Clifton’s Republic, we added some new photos to our 2016 review of the venue’s Gothic Bar. We are not sure yet, but we may do some follow-up coverage. The Neverlands, the company that owns Clifton’s, seems to be promoting the venue’s multiple themed bars as a “fantasy environment” where they stage “extraordinary and innovative hospitality experiences.”

This may be more hype than reality – so far, their events are standard issue musical performances and costume parties – but last night we were accosted by two costumed characters who related some alleged history regarding the decorations in the Monarch Bar; it felt a little like being at House of Spirits. We will make inquiries to determine whether The Neverlands is planning to offer immersive-type experiences.
