Rick Baker to receive Eyegore Award before HHN 2009
Here is another news tidibit for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. This year, the Chiller-Eyegore Awards – which take place on HHN’s opening night, October 2 – will honor makeup artist Rick Baker for his lifetime achievements in the horror genre, which include AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981) and the upcoming THE WOLF MAN, which opens on February 12, 2010.

On October 2, 2009, Universal Studios Hollywood will celebrate the unleashing of this year’s long-awaited Halloween Horror Nights! The opening night will also showcase the Chiller Eyegore Awards, which acknowledges actors, artists and filmmakers in a variety of categories specific to the horror genre.
This year, six-time Academy Award® winning special makeup effects artist, Rick Baker, will accept a Chiller Eyegore Award for his incomparable design and his makeup effects that have created indelible imagery in over 42 horror films. Most recently, Baker worked on Universal Pictures’ ”The Wolfman” along side Director Joe Johnston (“Jurassic Park III”) and Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro in which he transforms Del Toro into the fearsome title character. The film opens nationwide on February 12, 2010.
