Seaside Haunt – First Impression

Just got back from a long drive out to Ventura to visit the Seaside Haunt in Seaside Park, Ventura. I’ll give the full details about it later, but right now I just want to say that it was worth the trek, despite the distance. Sadly the place was undeservedly ill attended on a Friday night early in the season, but that’s all the more reason for you to head on out there as soon as you can: no waiting in long lines!

On the way, we stopped off at the Thousand Oaks Haunt. This one was not as impressive, but it was still decently entertaining. I wouldn’t recommend making the trip from Los Angeles just to see this, when we have so many others much closer, but it was a fun stop on the way to Seaside Haunt, and it’s certainly worth attending if you live in the area.

One other piece of Halloween news — bad news, unfortunately: Fright Fair still does not have its haunted house open for business (although its day time harvest festival is going well). I understand the Chatsworth fire slowed down construction, but the Thousand Oaks Haunt was even closer to the fire and they managed to get going after only a one-week dealy. In any case, there’s no excuse not to update the Fright Fair website and warn visitors about the delay — which they still have not done.
