Arrow in the Head relays an e-mail message from the Weinstein Company, which states that Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN, starring Tyler Mane as the sinister "Shape," will arrive on schedule on August 31 of this year. This seems to definitively put to rest the rumors of a production delay.
Amusingly, the e-mial goes on to say that Zombie's version of John Carpenter's old HALLOWEEN chestnut will be "an entirely new take on the legend" that "will not only appeal to horror fants but to a wider movie-going audience as well."
Yeah, right. Because, you know, fans of Rob Zombie and/or HALLOWEEN, really want a horror film that will appeal to a mainstream, middle of the road audience. Conceptually, this is the equivalent of an oxymoron.
