SugarMynt schedules Haunted Haddonfield for Halloween, plus movie screenings.

The prospects for Halloween 2020 are far from bright, but all is not lost. SugarMynt Gallery will be presenting Haunted Haddonfield, its annual showing of artwork inspired by John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978). The exhibition will through November 7, launching with an Opening Night celebration on September 12.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, SugarMynt is currently not open for regular business hours, so visits are by appointment only. For the opening day celebration, advance reservations are required for scheduled time slots.  Tickets costs $27 for slots starting a 4pm, 5pm & 6pm; $35 for slots starting at 7:30pm, 8:30pm, 9:30pm.

If September is too long to wait for your Halloween fix, SugarMynt is offering a series of complimentary outdoor screenings in August. The schedule includes:

  • Frankenstein (August 6)
  • Donnie Darko (August 7)
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street (August 8)
  • Coraline (August 9)

Screenings begin at 8pm. Doors open between 7:30-7:45. Seating space is limited, so arrive early. You may bring a low chair, but social distancing may result in some people being forced to sit on the lawn, so bring a blanket for backup.

Attendees are encouraged to bring outside food, drinks, and alcohol. Children are welcome.

Films are included with regular gallery admission, which allows perusal of current exhibits. Prices are $18/person on Thursday & Friday, $20/person on Saturday, and $15/person on Sunday Family Night.
