Teaser: Killer Klowns From Outer Space landing at HHN

After decades of generic clowns infesting psycho circuses and crazy carnivals, there will finally be a Halloween maze based on Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Details on the attraction are scarce, but the 1988 cult film features some truly outrageous imagery that should translate well to an immersive, live-action environment. Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood announced the maze via teaser trailer.

Created by the Chiodo Brothers almost as a showcase for their prosthetic makeup and special effects artistry, Killer Klowns From Outer Space has unofficially inspired more mazes than we can count (e.g. “Killer Klown College” at the 2007 Knott’s Berry Farm Halloween Haunt). Few if any have acknowledge the Chiodos work (i.e., paid royalties), and none has fully captured their film’s hilariously horrific antics. It’s about time somebody went back to the original. Good on you, Universal!

With both Killer Klowns and Ghostbusters, Halloween 2019 is shaping up to be a season of comedic horrors at Universal Studios Hollywood.
