It’s a double bill of black-comedy-revenge-horror-melodrama with the late great master of horror Vincent Price in two of his most memorable roles. In THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIES, he plays a doctor bumping off the physicians who failed to save his wife on the operating table. In THEATRE OF BLOOD, he plays a Shakespearian actor bumping off the critics who dissed his performances. Both films are loads of frightful fun; in retrospect, they helped launch the “creative deaths” approach to horror movies that has become so popular in recent years.
