The Burning & 12-hour Horror Marathon at New Beverly

The New Beverly Cinema gets into the Halloween spirit early with this deluge of on-screen horror. The marathon titles are to be announced later. THE BURNING is a forgotten entry in the 1980s slasher movie cycle, distinguished mostly by an intriguing score from Rick Wakeman (keyboardist of Yes). It is also of some note in that it was produced by the Weinstein Brothers, who went on to create Miramax, the high-class importer of art house movies, which dabbled in horror on the side through their Dimension label, which released SCREAM and many others.
